Eurovision 2014: David Cameron admits he doesn’t know who Molly Smitten-Downes is

He can wax lyrical about all things political, including the advantages of leaving the European Union, but when it comes to the Eurovision song contest it seems that Prime Minister David Cameron is out of this depth.
The Prime Minister was caught out of his comfort zone on Friday when he admitted that he didn’t know who was representing the UK this year - and confessed that it was unlikely he would be watching the show.
Mr Cameron was speaking to broadcaster Mark Murphy on BBC Radio Suffolk, when he was asked if he was going to be watching this year’s song contest.
“Probably not, if I’m absolutely honest but I gather that the British entry’s got a slightly higher chance than usual, is that right?” the Premier replied cautiously.
Sensing his uncertainty, radio presenter, Mr Murphy then asked if Mr Cameron knew who was representing the UK this year.

Barry Manilow on Gary Barlow and his love affair with the British public ahead of Wembley Arena gig

What are your earliest memories of visiting the UK?

My manager had booked me for two nights at the London Palladium in 1978. By then I had already had ten hit singles! Ten! My record career and my performing career had exploded in the U.S. and all of my advisors thought it was time to see if anyone outside of the U.S. was interested in me. I was totally convinced that nobody would buy tickets for those two nights.

I had never been to England; I had no friends or relatives there! I thought my advisors were all crazy. But those two nights sold out so quickly, we added two more nights and then two more until two nights had turned into six nights of sold out shows at the Palladium.

Blake Lively On Chime For Change Campaign, Channeling Solange's Confidence On 'Scary' Red Carpet

Blake Lively is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's most beautiful actresses. We've been obsessed with the Los Angeles native's glam style and bombshell waves since her "Gossip Girl" days. Plus, she's married to equally gorgeous Ryan Reynolds, so we have more of a reason to envy Lively. But this blonde beauty is more than just good looks.
Lively is using her celebrity status through the Gucci fragrance Chime for Changecampaign to help improve the lives of women and girls worldwide. The charitable initiative was founded in 2013 when Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, Salma Hayek Pinault and BeyoncĂ© united for a campaign that would "make a real change happen" in the areas of health, education and justice.
The drive and determination of those three women, along with Gucci's long history of bridging fashion and philanthropy, struck a cord with Lively. Plus, the Gucci Premiere spokesmodel was in awe of how Giannini forewent the usual gala or dinner where proceeds would be raised for donation and instead opted for an "incredible launch pad" with the Chime for Change concert.
"It was an event that grabbed a lot of attention, but what was the most moving thing to me was that the people sharing the stage were women who had made a difference in their country and didn't have the platform you do as an actor, musician or celebrity," Lively told us. "These women had gone against all odds and changed the world. So, to be in their company and be inspired by that was a very exciting intro."
She added, "And it's not just one organization where they're collecting all this money. You get to become personally invested with those who are on the ground doing the work -- you don't get to see that when it's a bigger [organization]."
With her intense passion for shedding a brighter light on the oppression of women and girls, we often look to Lively for inspiration on how to build self-confidence. However, the 26-year-old revealed that she struggles with insecurity just like us. It turns out that her famous side-swept waves actually doubles as a "shield."
"I hide behind it a bit because red carpets can be intimidating," she explained. "And when my hair is in my face, I feel less exposed."
Lively also has a pretty interesting way of getting mentally prepared to step out in front of the paparazzi's cameras. "I am so not confident on the red carpet. I just sit there thinking, 'What would Gisele do?' It is such a sensory overload."
She continued, "I've seen Solange [Knowles] perform in front of 90,000 people and I saw her [at the Met Gala] and was thinking, 'Oh, why do we do this? This red carpet is always so scary.' I saw her take a deep breath and put her performance face on, and you really have to do that. I'm not comfortable as me standing in front of 500 photographers, so I have to go somewhere else and pretend that I'm the confident person you hopefully expect me to be."
Well, you're quite the actress, Blake!

    #Stop Judging #T Shirt #dntstore

1 Every time that you see something to insult about, think whether the person will be offended by the insult. If not, give them constructive criticism gently. If yes, say nothing at all.
When a person walks by you, don't judge them stereotypically. Remember the old cliche, "Don't judge a book by its cover." see more below

    Stop Judging T Shirt

3 Bet a friend money that you can stop criticizing people for two weeks.Alternatively, offer to pay your friend a dime every time he catches you criticizing.

4 If you are about to say something mean and insulting, wait ten seconds, think of being nice, and give that person a nice comment about his/her clothes, shoes, etc.
5 Offer to help the person. This may encourage you to see the good in them and not the bad.
6 If all else fails, try not to judge the next person.
Before you judge, think about how you feel when you know you are being judged. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

8 If you really can't stop, go see a therapist.

Elena Baltacha dies at the age of 30 from liver cancer

    Elena Baltacha

  • Tennis player

  • Elena Sergeevna Baltacha was a British professional tennis player. Being a four-time winner of the Aegon Award, she was also a long-term British No. 1, a position she held intermittently from 2002 to 2012.
  • lena Baltacha had a career-high ranking of 49 and twice reached the third round of the Australian Open. Photograph: David Ashdown/The Independent/REX
The former British No1 Elena Baltacha died of liver cancer early on Sunday morning. She was 30.
Baltacha was diagnosed with the illness in January, two months after retiring from tennis and only weeks after she married her long-time coach Nino Severino.
"We are heartbroken beyond words at the loss of our beautiful, talented and determined Bally," Severino said in a statement released by her family.
"She was an amazing person and she touched so many people with her inspirational spirit, her warmth and her kindness."
According to her family's statement, Baltacha died peacefully at home. The daughter of the former Ipswich, St Mirren and Inverness footballer Sergei, she had retired from professional tennis last November after a career which had seen her ranked as the British No1 for 132 weeks, from December 2009 to June 2012. Her highest singles rank was 49, which she reached in September 2010.
The Lawn Tennis Association's head of women's tennis Iain Bates said in a statement: "Today we have lost a shining light from the heart of British tennis - a true role model, a great competitor and a wonderful friend.
"We have so many special memories to cherish but this leaves a gaping hole for everybody in both British and women's tennis and words simply cannot express how saddened we are by this news. All our thoughts are with Nino and the rest of Elena's family. We will miss you Bal."
Baltacha was diagnosed at the age of 19 with primary sclerosing cholangitis, a chronic liver condition which compromises the immune system, but she managed it throughout her career with medication and regular blood tests. After deciding to quit the professional game she had been coaching junior tennis players at her Ipswich-based academy prior to her illness.
She and Severino, whom she married in December, had been organising another 'Rally for Bally' – a series of charity events that will feature Andy Murray, Martina Navratilova and Tim Henman after a successful debut last year.
In a statement the LTA said: "Today British Tennis mourns the loss of one of our own. The news of the death of Elena Baltacha, one of the shining lights of British women's tennis of recent generations, is devastating to everyone who has ever had the privilege to know her, play against her or call her a friend or team-mate.
"It leaves a huge hole within our sport. Bally gave new meaning to the word 'fighter'. She fought tirelessly during her career against opposition on court and never gave in to the struggles she endured off it.
"Forever remembered for her relentless determination, unbelievable drive and a will-power that never ceased to amaze us, it was a pleasure to watch Bally develop into a world-class player and become an outstanding role model for everyone in the game. With her enthusiasm, spirit and passion for life, she was a pure joy to be around and, having recently got married to her husband Nino Severino, she was embarking on a new chapter in her life.
"The health issues she battled since her teenage years made what she achieved during her career all the more impressive."

    News: (from OK)

A journey through time with Lady Gaga and her ever-changing hairdos – in pictures

This is probably the only celebrity in the world who changes her hair about twice a day, seven days a week – and is not on a film set.
I will say this, you will either love or hate Lady Gaga's fashion. I'm going to be difficult and say I'm somewhere in the middle, this is because even when her styles are weirdly outrageous and would look terrible on 99% of the population, somehow she manages to hit the 1%. But, not all the time!
I thought I would start with a favourite of mine. If you look at the photo above taken in March 2014 at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, this hairstyle is actually quite beautiful . It also compliments her face shape. Great job considering hair wefts or a wig has been used?
What face shape does Lady Gaga actually have underneath her theatrics? Oval
As far as I'm aware there have been one or two recent sightings showing her natural hair.  You can see this from the photo above snapped in November 2013, where Lady Gaga Presents Art Rave - Press Conference. She almost looks unrecognisable with her natural hair!
Does it suit her face shape, though? This is just after her performance where she's taken off her wig. For this reason it's probably unfair to criticise, but I'm going to anyway.
To your surprise, I will say it suits. I could imagine if she had time to blow-dry or at least place some products in her hair, it would be a short wavy, messy bob which would suit her shape face. Although as she has quite a low hairline at the front I would prefer to see some hair brought forward onto her forehead.
She does suit that chocolate brown hair, I also like her blonde as it suits her skin tone as much as the brown, although for me the blonde would need to be coupled with a style that's either trendy or beautiful, not keen on her pantomime blonde wigs.
What do you think of this Gaga look? [Getty]
Lady Gaga looks great on the photo above taken in 2013 at the American Music Awards. Her make-up looks very pretty, her dress is gorgeous BUT her hair isn't very suitable. You will ask yourself what is this hairdresser talking about, I shall explain. Lady Gaga has a fairly long slim face, this hairstyle as pretty as the hair is makes her face appear far too long, which in turn gives the illusion of the hair looking a little unnatural.

Lady Gaga channelling Mona Lisa [Getty]
Look at this fabulous Mona Lisa lookalike above at the Lady Gaga Sighting in London on the 4th of December 2013. ILOVE IT.
The understated photo above (sarcasm) was snapped in April 2014 at Lady Gaga's Official Roseland After Party. It's hard to criticise a look that's so bonkers, although I have to say I hate the wig, colour and flowers BUT it's on Lady Gaga so I kind of like it, hope I'm making sense. These powerful looks wouldn't particularly suit anyone, so there's no point being technical on this style.
I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at some of my favourite Lady Gaga photos. Whatever you think of her she is certainly an inspiration and will be a hair and fashion icon for many years to come.
